In a Nutshell

The overall mission of the Policy Community is to bring together researchers and practitioners from different disciplines and backgrounds to work together and share and learn from each other about projects successfully executed, theories and methods applied, tools available to support governance and policy development. Comparative studies and a knowledge base have been developed to provide a useful body of knowledge. Community building activities bring together the different actors at various occasions via on- and offline interaction.

Introduction to the network

The eGovPoliNet consortium consisted of a core group of 18 organisations all experienced in researching and developing ICT solutions for Governance and Policy Modelling thereby sharing common practices, objectives and work methods. More about the rationale of such a community building and networking activity, read here ...

After the end of the project eGovPoliNet, the network is continued through the forming of special interest groups (SIG) within existing communities relevant to the domain of study. These are
  • the IFIP WG 8.5
  • a SIG group of AIS
  • a SIG group of ESSA
  • the Policy Informatics Network of APPAM
Further community linkages are planned in the future. The champions of the different SIGs and interested communities commit to continue the activities of eGovPoliNet. Read more here ...
