The conference is organized under the patronage of the Ministry of Security and Public Administration by the National Information Society Agency and the Center for Electronic Governance at UNU-IIST (founder and coordinator of the ICEGOV series).
ICEGOV2013 First Call for Papers
ICEGOV2013 welcomes submissions of original work, neither published nor considered for publication elsewhere, that contribute to this theme. Like previous ICEGOV conferences, papers are welcome that focus on the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to transform the working of governments, and their relationships with citizens, businesses and other non-state actors. Of interest is how to design, implement, operate and sustain this transformation to achieve not only "better government" but "smart governance". Unlike previous ICEGOV conferences, ICEGOV2013 specially welcomes submissions that address not only the "mechanics" but the "value" of this transformation: how through "smart governance" government organizations can partner with citizens, businesses and other non-state actors to pursue "smart development" and to advance public policies post-2015. Completed or ongoing work can be submitted as research, experience or poster papers in one of seven tracks: 1. Building Smart Government 2. Governing through Networks 3. Policy and Governance Innovations 4. Smart Governance for Smart Industries 5. Smart Governance for Smart Societies 6. Ethics, Transparency and Accountability 7. Emerging Topics.
